Tuesday Eats

It's long overdue for me to post a juice recipe, but despite the delay I'm sharing one of my favorites with yall today. In the beginning I honestly had no idea where to even start with juicing. A million questions went through my mind: which vegetables are best, which ones should you avoid, should you peel that fruit/veggie, how do you make a drinkable and tasty combination, etc.

I've learned along the way that it's just like any recipe, a guessing game that includes trial runs and experiments. A glass of fresh juice in the morning wakes me up faster than a cup of coffee and doesn't leave me with a slump a few hours later. This article has a great explanation of juicing and the benefits that come along with it.

Beet, Carrot, Apple & Spinach Juice
via louisiana bride

ingredients:
1/2 beet
1 large carrot
1 apple (I used gala)
2 lime wedges, skin peeled
handful of spinach

directions:
Wash and peel all fruits and vegetables.
Note: cut the apple into segments for easier juicing.
Juice and serve!
(makes 1 serving)

I'm always looking for new juicing recipes to try so send me any favorites of yalls!

  2. I've yet to juice a beet. I really like the color. My sister and I always end up with green juices. We do a lot of celery or cucumber + apple + kale, and then add in whatever else we might have on hand that day. Honestly though, celery juice does not taste awesome..

  3. That juice is the prettiest color!!! What does it taste like? I've never tried a beet...and I really like the idea of juicing my veggies instead of eating them, but I'm basically a 5 year old and I'm worried you'll be able to taste the veggies.

  5. Hmmm I've never really done a juice before but I really want to try it. I'm just afraid the per-packaged ones will taste bad.

  8. They aren't exactly juicing, but Simple Green Smoothies (http://simplegreensmoothies.com) has a ton of really good smoothie recipes that I love.
